CHIEFS PHOTO ALBUM
BRONZE SCULPTURES
One night I was searching the web and came across an Image Gallery which had a page of Native American busts sculpted by Philip Cote. These sculptures were so incredibly beautiful that I wanted to include them with the genealogies of these Chiefs. As luck would have it, a good friend of mine from Leominster MA ran into Mr. Cote at an art event in Sterling. He gave me permission to use his pictures in my album. He also explained that the images came from his own imagination, and not from any descriptions or pictures of these Chiefs. That relieved my mind, as I have seen both Massasoit and King Philip in dreams, and to me Mr. Cote's vision of Metacom is my vision of Massasoit (only younger), and Mr. Cote's vision of Wamsutta is very much like my vision of Metacom (only older). I am pleased to present them here as he envisioned them.

David Lewis - Sculpture
Just recently another good buddy sent me to another website, where I discovered another very talented sculptor by the name of David Lewis. He was born and raised on Cape Cod, and if you are fortunate enough to be able to visit Hyannis, you can see his life-size bronze of Sachem Iyanough on Main Street. For those who can't wait, I've used Iyanough's son in my header, and present here another teaser.

You are invited to see more of David's work at his own website DAVID LEWIS - SCULPTURE. I know a lot of Bearse descendants who are going to be thrilled about this! Thank you, Frank, for sending me that url! David Lewis can be contacted at this address:
