COLUMBIA MALE HIGH  SCHOOL 

 COLUMBIA MALE HIGH SCHOOL, After the Columbia Conference Female College was abandoned around 1860, and sometime after the Civil War, the vacant building was purchased by the Smith Brothers, and converted into a male high school, with Dr. William A. Smith and Professor John S. Beecher at its head. The school was very liberally patronized, and educated many young men for a time.
