He appeared on the census in 1880 in Gibson Co., TN. ⁽⁷³⁾ 1880 Gibson Co., GA census shows Geo W. Tolbert, white, male, age 53, married (to M.C. Tolbert), Farmer, born in GA, father born in VA, and mother born in SC?. 

He died on 7 Dec 1881 or 1882.⁽⁷⁴⁾ He was buried in Middle TN.⁽⁷⁵⁾

 He was married to Malinda C. BARTON  on 10 Feb 1848 in Cass (Bartow) Co., GA.^(76)(77)(78) In the 1900 Floyd Co., GA census, Malinda says she was born in Nov 1832 (age 67), and widowed. She states she was married 52 years, so I estimated the marriage to be just before 1848. Mike Buffington found the marriage date of 10 Feb 1848, but George Tolbert died in 1881 or 1882. They would have only been married for 33 or 34 years. Malinda must have been giving the number of years SINCE she married. 
Malinda C. BARTON⁽⁷⁹⁾ was born in Nov 1832 in SC.^{(80) (81)} She appeared on the census in 1850 in Clarke Co., GA. ⁽⁸²⁾ 1850 Clarke Co., GA census shows Melinda Talbot, age 17, female, and born in SC. She appeared on the census in 1870 in Gibson Co., TN.⁽⁸³⁾ 1870 Gibson Co., GA census shows Malinda Tolbert (wife of George Tolbert), age 40, female, white, keeps house, and born in GA. 
She appeared on the census in 1880 in Gibson Co., TN. ⁽⁸⁴⁾ 1880 Gibson Co., GA census shows M. C. Tolbert, white, age 48, wife (of Geo W. Tolbert), married, keeping house, born in SC, father born in SC, and mother born in NC. 
She appeared on the census in 1900 in Floyd Co., GA. ⁽⁸⁵⁾ 1900 Floyd Co., GA census shows Malinda C. Tolbert, mother in law of Henry J., white female, born Nov 1832, age 67, and widowed. She was married 52 years. She has had 8 children, with 7 still living. She was born in SC, her father was born in SC, and her mother was born in NC. She could read, write and speak English. 
She died after 1907. She was buried in Rome, Floyd Co., GA at Sand Springs Church Cemetery.⁽⁸⁶⁾ Supposedly, there was once some sort of marker, but none can be found now. Her name was listed with others buried in Sand Springs, but no dates were listed. Her name was spelled Milinda, Melinda and Malinda in various sources. He appeared on the census in 1880 in Gibson Co., TN. ⁽⁹⁰⁾ 1880 Gibson Co., GA census shows James Tolbert, white, male, age 16, son (of Geo W. and M.C. Tolbert), single, Farm Laborer, born in GA, father born in GA, and mother born in SC.

There is a James Talbert, born in Aug 1863 (age 36) in GA listed in the 1900 Madison Co., GA census. He is married to Sivilia, who was born in Mar 1871 (age 29). They have been married 13 years, and have 6 children, with 5 still living (Meakey S., William C., Clara B., Lillie M., and Joseph - ages 11 down to 1). They are in the Grovehill District, sheet 10B (District 67 on Ancestry.com).
