To the James Talbot/Tolbert

The
first thing I ever found on James Talbot was a reference in the book "Bartow
County, GA - Book of Will Abstracts". It said he was listed in Will
Book A, p76-77-78. At that time, I didn't have a clue where to begin to
get the real pages. Emily O'Neal sent me a scanned copy of it in Jan of
2000. Some time later, I made my very first "Courthouse" trip to Bartow
Co., GA. While searching for my Smith family, I stumbled across this Will!
If I wasn't hooked before, I definitely was then! I was just fascinated
by the old documents that described the people by name and the lands they
owned. I have not been able to return to Bartow Co., GA yet, but hope to
one day. I have been able to go to the Floyd County Courthouse several
times since then, which is where his daughter Leanna later lived. Enjoy
getting to know this family!
