William
Carroll (Bill) Mecoy and Family
William Carroll Mecoy, son of Abner
and Polly, was born February 3, 1833 in McNairy County, TN, and died November
30, 1907, in Tippah County, MS. He married Nancy Marinda (Nannie) Siddall.
They had seven children, all shown above. Most of their children went back
to the original spelling of McCoy before their deaths. Pictured above are,

- Abner Ferrell MeCoy, born November 22, 1868, married Lucy Katherine (Kate) Quinn, daughter of John Foster Quinn and Ellender Jane Mohundro on December 12, 1897. He died January 16, 1910 in Tippah County.
- Richmond (Dick) McCoy, born June 11, 1876, married Mary Maddox on April 27, 1913, died April 20, 1961 in Tiplersville, MS.
- John Douglas McCoy, born December 13, 1887, married Salley Hughey Meeks on April 2, 1916.
- Joshua Willburn (Will) McCoy, born June 19, 1874, married Drusillah Sareta Hopkins, daughter of William James Hopkins and Celissa Belle Rowland, on September, 2, 1899. He died February 13, 1958.
- Mary Elizabeth McCoy, born September 2, 1872, married Bart Hudson on December 11, 1892.
- Samantha (Mantie) McCoy, born October 7, 1872, married Raleigh Easley, died March 17, 1955.
- Robert Hardy (Bob) MeCoy, born September 2, 1886, married Ruby Lee Purnell on May 16, 1917, died October 8, 1958.

The Family House This is the house that the family lived in during Nannie and Bills life together. It was typical of a Southern farm house. The original construction was probably log and it was later covered with clapboards. The house had a huge open central hall called a "dog trot", this hall was used to separate the kitchen from the living areas of the house and to allow for good ventilation during the summer months. After the children grew up, they lived on land adjoining this property. The house burned in 1930.
