Welcome to the Texas MCCRARY's Website!

Grab a chair, or sit on the floor. Kick off your shoes and get comfy. Just don't get too excited and piddle on the carpet! The coffee's on and there is beer in the fridge. We are all family here, so don't expect to be waited on. If you want something go get it. If you can't find it ask. If we don't have it we'll try to get it. If you would like to tell us about your family connecton, by all means we'd love to hear it!

It gets a little crazy here sometimes so mistakes are bound to happen. (I've never heard of a perfect McCrary), so if you see any errors or would like to amend, contradict, add, or just plain comment, let us hear from you! This is an ongoing project so if the page you want isn't up yet, please come back and check later.

By the way, my name is Nancy Belle (McCrary) Jordan, and I'm the one that catches the flack when something goes wrong, or you find a mistake. Enjoy your visit and come back often!

This handsome, young sailor from Clarendon, Texas, served on the "Devil Ship" The USS Black DD666 and the USS Watts DD567 during WWII. It seems ludicrous that a few cranky old men, who wanted to conquer the world, could rip a 17 year old Texas boy from the love of his family, and drop him in the middle of the South Pacific to protect his homeland.

This sweet, young thing worked in the Drugstore in Granby, Colorado in April of 1950, when a tall, soft spoken, Texan strolled in and ordered a cup of coffee. He was so impressed with the coffee that he asked for her hand in marriage. "Ma'am, this is the best coffee I've ever tasted. I guess I'll just have to marry you so I can get a cup every morning." She smiled, pushed his money across the counter to him, and said, "Well, if your going to marry me, you'd better save your money!"

That soft spoken Texan, and the sweet Colorado girl are my parents. Clyde Weldon MCCRARY and Margie Ann SHULTS. She finally accepted his proposal and they were married Aug 19,1950. This year they celebrate their 50th Wedding anniversary. (However, he now makes the coffee every morning.) These pages are dedicated to Clyde and Margie McCrary They gave their kids the love of family, and the stories of their youth. These stories began the search for more knowledge of the family that was born before.
