We are starting with the descendants of Dr. John Eckford of Innerleithen, Peebleshire, Scotland who emigrated to the southern United States about 1801. So far we have identified about 495 descendants. To accomplish this, we have also had to identify the other Eckford families of the southern United States.
Meanwhile, Sandy is working on a detailed genealogy of 200 plus years of Eckfords in the Innerleithen, Scotland area. And then we can link to our known Canadian and British cousins and perhaps to cousins in other parts of the British empire.
By that time, we should be able to identify the other Eckfords in the Midwest and Far West.
Feel free to use this information for non-commercial purposes. But we have worked hard to assemble this collection, so please give us credit as we try to credit those others who have provided so much data.
We have tried to provide accurate and complete information, but errors, omissions and oversights occur; please bring those to our attention when you encounter them. And please provide additional information on Eckfords, spouses and descendants.
