of the 12th Virginia Regiment whose Term of Enlistment is 
fully expired; having served upwards of two years and 
behaved himself during the time as a good soldier is 
hereby discharged. Given under my hand at Fort Randolph.

Lovely watercolor by Billy Higginbotham captures the beauty and character of the ancestral McGee home built by John McGee in the early nineteenth century. Jessie Floyd McGee and his family currently live in the home McGee Home
McGee Cove Eight generations of McGees have lived in the home and on the land first settled by John and Esther McGee in what is now known as McGee Cove, Warren County, Tennessee. John McGee's tombstone is barely visible at the left end of the grove of trees in the center of the photo. Samuel and Manerva are buried near the trees just behind John's grave.

The Birthing Tree For over 100 years The Birthing Tree with it's ample and well developed structure and foilage gave protection to travelers passing through the area. A number of pregnant women gave birth under the the massive white oak, hence the name. Located NorthEast of McMinnville on Sparta Highway, across from and owned by the River Park Hospital, The Birthing Tree was granted Landmark Tree status in 2000 by the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council.
Nationally famous Cumberland Caverns is located on Cardwell Mountain. On the other side of Cardwell Mountain lies McGee Cove. Cumberland Caverns
