To all to whom these presents shale come == GREETING:
KNOW YE, That for and in consideration of the sum of 12 ½ cents per
acre, paid into the office of the Entry-Taker of Warren county, and entered
on the 30th day of December 1824 pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the
General Assembly of said state, passed on the twentysecond day of November, one thousand
eight hundred and twentythree, by No 830
there is granted by the State of Tennessee, unto Esther McGee
a certain Tract or Parcel of LAND, containing Three acres
by survey bearing date the 5th day of May 1826 lying in said county,
and bench of Cumberland Mountain and bou-
nded as follows to wit Beginning at a Sugar Tree
and hornbeam, Running South with the Moun-
tain twenty four poles to two hickories then
with the saim West twenty poles to a hickory
& Dogwood. Then on with said mountain North
twenty four poles to a red oak & dogwood then
with the Saim east twenty poles to the Begin-
ning including a spring known by the name
of John McGee's Mountain Spring, also
a petre Cave so called ~
With the hereditaments and appurtenances. To Have and to Hold the said Tract or Parcel
of LAND, with its appurtenances, to the said Esther McGee
and her heirs forever.
In Witness Whereof, Wm Carrall Governor of the State of Tennessee, hath
hereunto set his hand, and caused the Great Seal of the State to be affixed, at Nashville, on the
19th day of March in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and
twenty-seven and of the indepnedence of the United States, the fiftyfirst.
