Brazil, IN - Feb. 24 - Mrs. Elizabeth Lalen Dwyer, 65 years old, of South Leavit St. died Wednesday night at the Clay Co., Hospital.  She is survived by 3 sons and a daughter.  Evan Lalen of Indianapolis, Kenneth and Clifford Lalen, city, and Mrs. Luther Pullen, city; a sister, Mrs. Ether Howard, Brazil; and one brother Henry McIndoo of Brazil.  The body was taken to Miller and sons Funeral Home.

      Lyda Branham McIndoo, 73, of Phoenix, a retired secretary, died September 20, 1998.  She was born in Douglas and was a World War II Navy veteran.  survivors include her daughter, Lynn Young; son, Steven; sisters, Lois Pare and Josephine Hoyland; brother, Frank Branham; seven granchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  A luncheon will be held for family and friends on Sunday at the home of Steve McIndoo, Scottsdale.  Contributions: Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. SOUTHERN PINES -- Mrs. Mary Dickson McIndoo, 86 of southern Pines died Sunday in Saint Joseph Health Care.  A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Pinelawn Memorial Park Mausoleum by Chaplain Charles Meek.  Mrs. McIndoo is survived by her husband, Thomas M. McIndoo of southern Pines: two sons, James McIndoo of Anderson, Indiana, and Will McIndoo of El Paso, Texas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Powell Funeral Home.

Robert Gene McIndoo

     Robert Gene McIndoo, 71, of Jacksonville, passed away Sunday, August 17, 1997.  he was born February 20, 1926 in Terre Haute, Indiana.  Mr. McIndoo was a retired Teacher and he was a Minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).   He served in the Army during WWII and was a member of Southside Christian Church.  He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his son, Tom of Durham, North Carolina; his daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Dennis Stewart of Manteo, North Carolina; and five grandchildren.  The funeral service will be held at 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home, 6940 Atlantic Blvd. with Revs. Ronald and Sandra Stroh, officiating.  Burial will be in Terre Haute, Indiana.   Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

 

Thomas McIndoo

Thomas McIndoo was born August
27, 1840, and departed this life May
20, 1892.  He was a sufferer from
lung trouble for many years.  He united
with the Christian church when quite young.  He volunteered as a Union soldier in 1862, but on account of 
sickness was discharged and returned.  He was born in Owen county, and it
has always been his home.  He leaves a 
wife and two children, four sisters and three brothers, and a large circle of friends to mourn his death.  He was buried May 22 on the home farm, the Rev. Price conducting the funeral services.  He was a good citizen, loved by all, and will be missed in the community in which he resided.

Brazil, IN - April 23 - Thomas McIndoo whose wife and child died a week ago of measles and who has lain in an unconscious condition from the disease for over a week, died yesterday at the age of 27 years.  Three small children are left orphans.

William E. McIndoo, 77, of Port Richey (Florida) died Friday (July 3, 1998) at Richey Manor Nursing Home in New Port Richey.  A native of Chicago, he moved to this area 20 years ago from Spokane, Washington.  He was a retired electronics engineer for the Central Intelligence Agency, an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, a member of the New Port Richey Optimist Club and Gulf Highlands Neighborhood Watch.  He is survived by a daughter, Marsha G. Otis of Laurel, Md.: and two grandchildren.  National Creamation Society, Holiday.

Hattie May (Spear) McIndoo

Do not know the newspaper source but the following is what was written in a
newspaper in Indiana, on September 19, 1941. Hattie died September 13, 1941.


DIED IN CALIFORNIA
Mrs. Hattie (Spear) McIndoo was buried last Sunday in California.  She was a native of Morgan township and the wife of Frank McIndoo, who passed away a few years ago when they lived in Indianapolis.  Mrs. McIndoo with the son and family, have been in California about a year.  A sister, Mrs. Nora Birdsell, lives at Lyons, Ind., and there are many relatives in Owen county.  Mrs. McIndoo was a daughter of the late David Spear.

Sarah Caroline Wilhite Maskal

     "Sarah Caroline, daughter of Frederick and Anna Wilhite, was born in Frederick County, Maryland, December 20, 1839, and died in Parke County, Indiana, January 17, 1918, being 78 years 27 days of age.
     She came to Indiana when 13 years of age and resided there until 1867. She was married to Leonard J. Maskal in February 1867 and she with her husband moved to Iroquois County, Illinois. 
     To this union were born nine children, four of which with the husband, preceded her in death. Her husband having died July 4, 1888. She was left to rear her family alone. Her children all having been reared to age of maturity and made homes of their own, she gave up her home and resided with her children,  mainly with her youngest daughter, Daisy Bruninga.  In 1913 she with her granddaughter, Mary Stanton, again formed a home in Parke County, Indiana.
     She was reared in the Lutheran faith and maintained her faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior until her death. Constantly following his teachings. Although unable to attend church, her thoughts and teachings were for His cause. She leaves behind the consolation that she was going home to Glory.
     She leaves to mourn her departure five children: Cornelia Cumrine of Danville Illinois, William Maskal of Tangier, Amanda Sellars of Kingman, Mary Wilhite of Cates, and Daisy Bruninga of Silverwood, Indiana, Twenty grandchildren, five great grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
     The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. M. McHargue of Kingman and Albert Tomilson of Tangier at the Sylvania Church. After which the remains were laid to rest in the Harveysburg Cemetary."
