The information on these pages was researched by my mother Marie Bernardette (Warburton) McKenna whose efforts and foresight preserved the memories of my father's line,Maxwell Richard Mckenna, who came from Ireland and forged a new life in the colony of Australia.

Like the emu and the kangaroo there was no turning back.

William Columban (1819) m. Emma-

Possibly a Therese and a Catherine.

Michael and Mary travelled a great deal; at one time they were caught in a forest fire in Russia . William Columban was born in 1819 mid-Atlantic en route to America. It was said that Alfred Washington ws born in America , however his birthplace is stated to be Dublin on his marriage certificate.

William Columban's children were Alice , Leopold, Theodore , Mary , Ernest and Reginald . Reginald McKenna became home secretary in 1911

and was made chancellor of the Exchequer in Asquith's ministry of 1915.
