Welcome to the Harris/Harrison family webpage! We hope that you will find our sight enjoyable and informative! If you have any questions and/or think that you may possibly be related to us, please do not hesitate to email me [email protected]. I wish to thank Napoleon Hines, our TRUE family historian. Thank you for listening to all of the stories and learning the family relationships from Clara Harrison (my great-grandma), Dora Harrison and all of the others. Without you and my Mother, I would never have known these great people. They continue to live on in the stories that you and Ma have given to me.
The Harrison and Richardson families have made their home in Tangipahoa Parish for over 100 years. The patriarchs of this family are Douglas Harrison (1850) and Jerry Richardson (1825). Jerry's daughter, Lucy(1852), married Douglas Harrison circa 1874, per the 1900 US Census report. They were married for nearly 50 years. The census reports and oral family history indicates that both Douglas and Lucy died sometime in the 1920's. Research is ongoing to confirm the date of death. Douglas' and Lucy's daughter, Clara, married Amos Harrison (no relation) sometime during the 1910's. They had 7 children. Family PagesFamilies are outlined according to patriarch's/matriarch's names.
