Mary Stewart Blakemore writes, "David was given part of his father's estate and he bought the remainder, 621 acres, a year before his father died in 1791. Augusta Co., Deed Book 26, page 456, records this purchase on Feb. 17. 1790. This, we believe, explains why Daniel McNair did not leave a will dividing his estate among his children. David spent his life in the home built by his father about 1741." Concerning the children, not much is known. Hannah married John Burgess and they had children. One daughter married a Mr. Brooks and among their children was James Brooks. Another daughter married a Mr. Jackson and had children.
