Turners Choice - Samuel Turner was on the Somerset County, Maryland rent rolls on 8 January 1699 for land called Turners Choice. This land was located in the Annamessex District of Somerset County, on the West side of Vasecanquo Creek and consisted of 150 acres. (The rent rolls are really a statement of who is responsible for paying taxes on the land.) The land Turners Choice was located in the area of Somerset County, Maryland just Northwest of the present town of Snow Hill, Maryland. Henry's brother, James Bramble, also a hotel proprietor married 12/30/1809 in Ross County Elizabeth Poe before removing to Newark, Licking County, where she died. James married 10/1/1829 Elizabeth Debolt Pitzer. James removed to Peoria, Illinois after 1850. Charles Bramble and William Bramble his son are in census records of Marion, Marion County and Dudley, Hardin County, but other vital records are missing for them.

When the governor left office, he furthered his agricultural pursuits and was one of the movers of the Delaware Railroad of which he was treasurer in 1852. He had moved from the Farmington house when he was elected governor, thereafter making his home on the northeast corner of Church and Front Streets in Milford, DE.

Beniah Tharp was the second son. Grew to manhood upon the farm of his father. At his fathers death when he was 21, he inherited a farm of 180 acres near the place of his birth. He moved upon it in 1830, and there spent the remainder of his life. He was a man of sound common sense, good judgement and dilligently attentive to his duties as a farmer. As a result of his energy and enterprise he accumulated considerable wealth, and at the time of his death owned a number of farms, aggregating several hundred acres of land. When only 27 Beniah was chosen one of the delegates from Kent County to the convention which met at Dover and framed the Amended State Constitution of 1831.

Republican and an ardent Union Man during the Civil War.

Was a user of indentured servants per newspaper records (See Indentured Servants in Talbot County for Extracts). Records exist of at least two instances, one January 11, 1853, the other on March 17, 1857. Listed as a "Fruit Evaporator" as occupation on 1880 census. Enumerator of the 1880 Census for Easton, MD district 2.

Lived at 28 South Washington St., Easton MD from 1855. The house when visited by G.L. Tharp in 1995 had been restored and is now used as a shop for the historical society museum. It is known as the "Tharp" house and is located in the old district of Easton.
