Welcome to a journey back in time....

WILBERT STERRETT MYERS was born in Miami, Saline County, MO, on June 3, 1871. The W. S. Myers Family, Wib, Emma, Robert and Alice

At the age of sixteen he began a daily diary. Through these writings, beginning in 1887 and continuing to 1905, we can travel back, over 100 years, to another time and place. These diaries also contain mention of local births, marriages, and deaths, which will be of interest to area genealogists.

In addition this site includes biographical sketches, family group sheets, and some photos of family members, friends, and the community of Miami.

The photo, at right, was taken c.1912, of Wilbert S. Myers and his wife Emma J. Wheeler. Their children are Robert Whitmore Myers, b. 1900, and Alice Margaret Myers, b. 1908.

This website was developed by Meredyth Lee (Myers) Devin, the grand-daughter of W. S. Myers, with the invaluable assistance of photos and records from his daughter, Alice Margaret (Myers) Castell.
