SAVAGE, BENThe death took place very suddenly on March 5, 1914, of Ben Savage, at his residence on Paisley Street. Ben Savage was one of Guelph's best known business men, having resided in this city practically all his life. He was born in England in 1845 and came here when but two years old, his parents first settling on a farm near Marden. His first business venture was when he joined his father, the late D. Savage, in a watchmaking business established by the latter on Carden Street in 1848. In 1850 he opened up his own business on Lower Wyndham Street. Mr. Savage was an active member of Norfolk Street Church and choir, and was a life member of Waverly Lodge, A.F. and A.M.
