The Last Will and Testament of Anna

Anna Maria Christy In the Name
of God, Amen. The 13th day of August in the year of Christ 1791.
I Anna Maria Christy of the Borough of Lancaster in the County of Lancaster
and State of Pennsylvania being at present weak of Body but of sound memory
and understanding and therefore am willing to make my last will and testament
in manner following: First it is my will that all my just debts shall
be paid in the first part Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth (a daughter
of my Brother Frederick Gass all my wearing apparel of what name soever
without exception aforehand and to hold the same to his use. Item
I give and bequeath unto the three children of Jacob Gass (who is the brother
of the above named Elizabeth) the sum of Fifteen Pounds hard money out
of my estate. Item to the Daughter of Martin Gass who is a son of
my brother Henry Gass which said Daughter lives now in Germany I give and
bequeath unto her the sum of Twenty five Pounds in hard money and one good
bed with a full bed case which shall be given and paid to her out of my
estate as soon as she arrives in this country but if she should not come
to this country then it is my will and I do hereby order that the above
named Elizabeth (the daughter of my said Brother Frederic Gass and her
sons viz Jacob Long, Christian Lang and John Lang shall divide the said
sum of money and bed equally between them and the remainder of my money
and Personal Estate I give and bequeath unto the said Elizabeth and to
her said three sons to be divided among them equally share alike
and none of them shall have any advantage before the other And further
I give and leave unto the said Elizabet and to her three sons the house
and lot whereon I now live in manner and form as the same is willed
and ordered in and by the last will and Testament of my first husband Andrew
Bersinger. And I do hereby nominate and appoint the above named Christian
Lang Executor of this my last will and testament In witness whereof I have
hereto set my Hand and seal on the Day and year first above said.

the presence of John Nees, Jacob Hartman

Lancaster County On the 14th day
of August 1793 Before me the subscriber personally appeared John Nees and
Jacob Hartman the two subscribing witnesses to the within instrument of
writing and upon their solemn affirmation asserting to law did declare
and say that they were present and saw and heard Anna Marie Christi sign
seal Publish Pronounce and declare the within instrument in writing and
that at the time of the doing thereof she was of sound and disposing mind
memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge observation and
belief. Be it remembered that on the 14th day of August 1793 the
last will and testament of Anna Maria Christi late of the Borough of Lancaster
deceased was proved in due term of Law and Letters Testamentary therein
were granted to Christian Long the Executor therein named he having first
been well and duly qualified well and truly to administer the Estate of
the said deceased and especially to exhibit a true and perfect inventory
thereof unto the Registers Office at Lancaster within one month from the
date and to render a just and true account of their administration on said
estate within one year or when thereto lawfully required given under the
seal of said office.
