Martin Martin, Dec'd  In the Name of God Amen.  I Martin Martin of Rapho Township in the County of Lancaster and Province of Pennsylvania being sick and weak of Body but of a sound understanding God be thanked I therefore make and declare this my last will and Testament in manner following  That is to say  First recommending my Body to the Earth to be interred in a Christian manner and my soul in the Hands of Almighty God who gave it.  Item  It is my will that my just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid by my hereafter named Executors out of my Estate as soon as it may be possible after my decease and as to say worldly Estate with which it hath pleased God to bless me.  I bequeath the same in manner following  First it is my will and I give unto my beloved son Christian Martin one hundred and twenty acres of my Plantation of Land lying in Rapho Township aforesaid adjoining to John Hummers John Frey & Henry Leshers and Peter Humers Land and the division line shall begin at John Hummers line on the North side of the run and in the meadow it shall go up by the water course untill it comes to the gate and from there the Line shall go along by the Partition fence to Peter Humers land and when the land is surveyed in manner aforesaid and should not amount to 120 acres then it is my will that he shall have the other in woodland and shall be surveyed to him and begin at Christian Longenecker Land thence along Philip Bams land to Peter Humers land until he has got the said quantity of one hundred and twenty acres in full besides the allowance which said 120 acres of land I give unto my son Christian Martin his heirs and assigns for ever under the conditions as well be hereafter mentioned and touching my beloved wife Anna and my son Jacob Martin and first to my will is that my son Christian shall not sell the Land which I have hereby given to him untill my son Jacob has attained the age of twenty one years and I value and appoint the said land unto my son Christian for the sum of four hundred pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania  Item it is my will and I give unto my beloved son Jacob Martin the remainder one hundred and twenty acres of land as the one half part of my said plantation or land together with all the buildings where I now live in Rapho Township aforesaid which said land I give to him his heirs and assigns for ever under the condition and reservation hereafter mentioned touching my wife Anna and my two daughters which said 12.0 acres of land of value and appraised to him for the sum of four hundred pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania.  Item it is my will and I order that the said eight hundred pounds for which I have appraised the said land unto my two sons shall be divided into four equal shares amongst my four children VIZ Christian Martin, Jacob Martin, Barbara Martin and Susanna Martin.  Item it is my will that my son Christian Martin still pay the said two hundred pounds which he has to pay out of said land in manner following that is to say the sum of fifteen pounds in one year after my decease and then he shall pay yearly the sum of fifteen pounds until he has paid his said £200  Item it is my will and I order that my son Jacob Martin when he attains the age of twenty one years shall then likewise pay yearly the sum of fifteen pounds until the has paid the sum of two hundred pounds  Item it is my will and I order that my Executors shall give and make unto my two sons VIZ  Christian Martin and Jacob Martin for the land which I have hereby bequeathed to them good deeds as good as I'm my own person could have made them -- condition that my two sons give good security for the owner if they require it  Item  it is my will and I give unto my wife Anna one third part of my moveable goods besides that which I here after give and bequeath to her  item it is my will and I order that the remainder of my moveable goods which I have out already bequeathed shall be divided in four equal shares among my four children but those which started --- in my book shall have so much deducted untill they have all equal shares  Item it is my will and I order that my wife Anna during her life or as long as she remains my widow shall live upon my place in my house wherein I now live and the said half part of the land which I have given to my son Jacob shall be for her maintenance and widow (seal?) until my son Jacob attains the age of twenty one years and then he shall preserve the said land as aforesaid and my will is that my wife Anna besides her said allowance bring up my two children Jacob and Susanna upon the said land until they attain their age and in that time shall send the children to school to learn there read and write  Item it is my will and I order that when my son Jacob takes his share of land in possession then he and my son Christian shall give unto my wife Anna out of the whole place yearly and every year as follows VIZ  Ten bushels of wheat or ten bushels of spelts cleaned and shall keep a cow in fodder as their own in summer and for --- food they shall give her yearly 15 hundred of hay and 15 hundred of --- crop and 100 bundles feeding straw and keep one acre of cultivated lands under good ---  which they shall according to her direction till and plough and give her yearly 100 pounds of good sound bacon and 50 pounds of beef yearly and according to her pleasure (stalling for her cows??) and it is further my will that my wife Anna shall have her dwelling place in the house wherein I now live during her life or as long as she remains my widow with a right to the house and fire in the same manner as my son Jacob and also fire wood at her pleasure ready cut and brought before the door or where she desires it and if it should happen that my wife Anna could not live with my son Jacob in the said house then it is my will that he shall build a house for her upon his share of said land near the limestone spring where the old house stands and a garden fenced with clapboard where she chooses it and each of them shall give her yearly five pounds good ---hemp and four pounds good wool and a barrel of good cyeter and so every good apples out of the orchard as she wants for eating and staying and a half a bushel of course salt and so much fine salt and yearly a pair of shoes and they shall carry her grain to mill and deliver the flour on her garret according to her pleasure and give her a horse to use when she may have need of one  Item it is my will that my wife Anna shall keep the plantation in good order and fence according to the directions of my executors until my son Jacob take it in his possession and lastly I nominate and appoint my beloved friend Christian martin of Rapho Township and Christian Herr of Mount Joy Township executors and guardians of this my last will and testament making hereby null and void all will or wills and testaments by me heretofore made declaring this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal the third day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy four signed sealed and declared by the Lancaster County  On the thirtieth day of may Anno Domini 1774 Before me the subscriber personally appeared the above named Michael Herr and John Herr the two subscribing witnesses to the foregoing will and on their solemn affirmation did declare and say that they were present and saw and heard Martin Martin the testator above named sign seal publish pronounce and declare the foregoing writing as said for his last will and testament and that at the doing thereof he was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of his knowledge understanding and belief                       Edward Shippen Reg'r
Be it remembered that on the thirtieth day of May Anno Domini 1774 the last will and testament of Martin Martin late of Rapho Township in the county of Lancaster yeoman deceased was proved in due form of law and letters testamentary were granted to Christian Martin an Christian Herr the Executor therein named they being first duly qualified well and truly to administer the estate of the testator and do exhibit a true and perfect inventory thereof unto the Registers Office at Lancaster on or before the thirteenth day of April next and to render a true and just account of the administration when thereto lawfully required given under the seal of the said office  Edward Shippen D.
