Early Frederick County was formed from Prince George's County in 1748 and included other present-day counties.

Welcome to the Research Center of early court records, maps, cemetery inscriptions, news abstracts, research aids, photos and much more.   Be sure and subscribe to the mail list and say hello by telling us about your ancestors and you may even find a new cousin or two.   You can browse or search the previous messages too, all from this site.

Searching for a particular name? Try the Search Engine (below) which will search all the pages that are part of this website (but does not search any of the linked sites or pdf files).
Good luck in your search. Email Dorinda Davis Shepley

NOTICE - Since Ancestry has chosen to "lock down" all RootsWeb websites, I will no longer be able to add any new records after the end of 2023. They claim they will keep a 'static copy' of the website, so hopefully all the data already there will be accessible.

However, I will still be able to send new data through the MidMdRoots mail list and those messages will be on that site and can be searched as well. So, please check the Mail Lists Link, especially after the end of 2023.
