Every family, at some point in time, seems to have had a pet of some kind.  Be it a hamster or a horse, these animals have often been regarded as just one of the family.  This is shown in the number of photographs one finds four-legged family members standing proudly next to their two-legged owners.  As I continue my voyage into my family's history, I would not consider my research complete if I did not also include a special place for those pets who have held a special place in the hearts of my ancestors.

In the following pages, you will find examples, both recent and old, of just how present pets have been in family photos.  I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I have.
