WELCOME TO MILLER COUNTY CEMETERIES - MISSOURI GENEALOGY

My name is Dianna (Hale) Mattingly and these cemeteries were personally inventoried by me, my daughter Mindy (Halderman) Barnhart and a few other relatives in 2001 - 2003. I was born and grew up, for the most part, in Miller County and I still reside here.

Since they were first inventoried they have been updated using thousands of obituaries. This process is ongoing and some of the cemeteries were totally re-inventoried. Also, there are several "new" listings.

Miller County is a county located in Central Missouri in the United States. Its county seat is Tuscumbia. Miller County was organized February 6, 1837, from Cole and Pulaski counties and named for John Miller, governor of Missouri. **** According to other records it was named after Pinckney Story Miller. He is buried in the Mt Pleasant Cemetery. Pinkney Story Miller - 23 Mar. 1827 19 June 1912 - 1st male white child born in Miller County. You can find articles about Pinkney Story Miller and his family and life online.

With the cemetery listings I have pages that are listed as Interred A thru B - C thru E - F thru G - H alone - I thru L - M thru P - Q thru U and V thru Z. This list includes everyone in all the cemeteries and they are listed in alphabetical order, plus it gives you the name of the cemetery they are buried in. This is helpful if you are looking for certain individuals. This DOES NOT include Maries and Morgan County listings.

I have tried to honor those who served in our United States Military by noting they are Veterans and what branch of service they were enlisted in. If I missed any of these please let me know and I will correct it as soon as possible. **** What is a Veteran? A Veteran whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to The United States of America, for an amount of up to, and including their life. This is honor.

I have included the parents of the deceased and maiden name in the listing when I had the information to do so.

In addition to the cemetery listings, I have added several new listing and at the bottom of this page, Greenmore Memorial Gardens - Morgan County and Freedom Cemetery - Maries County and new 2015.

If you have any corrections or information that you would like to add please contact me Dianna Hale Mattingly at: [email protected].
