I have cousins that are Geiters. I did a little research on the Surname because they were neighbors with many of my Surnames.
I have seen some writings that Geiter may be a form of Kreider. However, from what I have seen in research of the Lancaster County Geiters, they appear to have carried the name Geiter from Germany.
