1915 August 17  Bardykes John McDougal Following upon a fall of roof in a roadway in which a cable was run, two repairers were sent to remove the debris. The current was not cut off the cable and one of the repairers received a fatal shock owing to his shovel coming in contact with a bared conductor. [Mine Inspectors Report 1915] Blantyre accidents
1915 August 19 Broomrigg, Bonnybridge NK NK A fault occurred inside the motor of a coal cutting machine which, owing to the absence of a locking pin to connect the earth conductor in the trailing cable in the frame of the machine, caused the frame to be live, and the machineman so to receive a shock which proved fatal.
