Epsy Adeline Peeples
Epsy Adeline Peeples was born
November 11, 1847 in Choctaw County, Mississippi.
Her parents were Jesse Ruben Peoples b: 1801
and Elizabeth Pickney b: 25 JUL 1804 d: 10 OCT 1883. Her line can be traced to Capt. David Edward Peebles. Captain David Edward Peebles of Fife County, Scotland was a royalist who escaped execution from Cromwell and arrived in Virginia around 1649 during the Cromwell Rebellion. Married to Joseph Harvey Woods on January 02, 1866 at the age of 25, their union produced 6 children. When their baby, Ella Lee, wasn't quite three years old, Joe died at the young age of 43. Epsy raised the children alone as a single mother, for she never remarried. Epsie lived for 86 years. She died on May 15, 1935 in Webster County, Mississippi and you can find her grave at the New Greensboro Cemetery.
