Carson D. Heltzel, 78, died Monday at his Baltimore County
home. He was the husband of Virginia Bull Heltzel. Retired
from Black and Decker Co., he had worked as a welder.
Survivors include children, Joyce A. Bailey and James A.
Higgins, both of Reisterstown, Gordon M. Higgins of
California and Lee W. Higgins of Hampstead; brother, James Heltzel
of Winchester, Va.; sisters, Lillian Bradley and June Longerbeam,
both of Winchester; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Hofmeister, 69, died at her residence Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011. A
graveside service will be Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in
the New Hill Family Cemetery, Florence. Visitation will be Friday
evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Joy was
born in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of the late James
Albert and Virginia Bull Higgins. She was a member of Faith
Chapel. Joy was an Administrative Assistant with the State of
Maryland. Survivors are her husband of Timmonsville, James P.
"Jimmy" Hofmeister; two sons, David Steger and Kevin Steger both of
Reisterstown, Maryland; three step-daughters, June Swem (Tom),
Douglasville, GA, Joyce Fannon (Vince), Hanover, PA, Joan
Hof-meister, Leesburg, FL; stepson, Mark Hofmeister (Kim), White
Marsh, Maryland; Three brothers, James A. Higgins, Baltimore,
Maryland, Gordon Higgins, Florence, Lee Higgins (Patricia),
Memphis, Tennessee; nine grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In
lieu of flowers, to celebrate Joy's Life, donations can be made to
the Kidney Foundation , 6110 Executive Blvd, Suite 1010, Rockville,
