Civil War pension records show Jacob Higgins applied for an invalid's pension (Application # 985948) on January 27,1891 for his service in Company "E" 15h Kansas Cavalry. No record of it being granted. His wife Nancy J. Higgins received a widows pension (Application # 546203 & Certificate v# 417501) on ? 5th 1892. A pension for a minor (Application # 709417 & Certificate # 519974) was given December 4,1899. The invalid pension was filed for in Wisconsin, the other two were filed for in Missouri.
