ANOKA WEDDING NOTICES

April 22, 1891 in Anoka Co Newspaper

MARRIED
In Anoka, Wednesday, April 15th, by Rev Wm. Gilkes, at the residence of the bride’s parents, J. G. Wiley, of Palouse, Wash., to Miss Margaret E. McLeod. The bride is one of Anoka’s most accomplished daughters, loved and respected by all, and the groom is to be congratulated on his choice. The happy pair take with them to their far off home, the good wishes of all their friends. They left for home Friday afternoon.

Married—The marriage of Miss Minerva Knise, daughter of Hon. P. J. Knise of Luverne, to Mr. Frederick Norwood Van Duze of Washington, D. C. took place at the residence of the bride’s father, Friday at 2 o’clock. The marriage was attended by about 100 relatives and friends. The ceremony was performed by Rev. E. H. Bronson. Mr. Knise, the bride’s father is one of the best known citizens of the southwesteern part of the state, having lived there for over twenty years. Mr. Van Duzee is well known in his city, which was at one time his home. He is now private secretary for Hon. J. A. Tawney and Washington correspondent of the Pioneer Press. Mr. and Mrs. Van Duzee will visit New Orleans, Jacksonville, and Havanna and return to Washington the first of December.

UNITED IN WEDLOCK. In the town of Blaine, Nov. 7th, at 6:30 p.m., at the home of the bride, Mr. James England and Miss Ann Hargrave were united in holy wedlock, by Rev. Sanderson of Champlin. Mr. James Hargrave acted as best man and Mis Matusbak as bridesmaid. After the ceremony was over the happy couple was wished many years of happiness. Then the company partook of a bountiful repast. Messrs. Pope entertaining with songs and music. The affair broke up at 12 o’clock, all declaring they never had better time.

Among the guest were the following: Mr. and Mrs. Matusbak, Reidel, Nelson, Louis Jepson, J. W. Pope, Carl Otte, R. Rickaby, Mesdames Geo. Wall, P. Lyons, Geo. Smith, Chas Tingley, Misses Matusbak, M. Moore, E. Wall, M. Blanchard, L. Pope, Griffin, M. Lyons, M. Dawson, E. Smith, Messrs. McDClehr, J. Matusbak, J. Pullen, D. Terrace, James Hargrage, L. Matusbak, Geo. Pope, W. J. Pope, H. Pope, B. Pope, H. Rickaby, E. Rickaby, Wm. Dawson, M. Dawson, M. E. Dawson, A. Murrell, J. Smith, H. Tingley, Eugene Tingley and James Lyons.

At Anoka, Wednesday, Nov. 7th, by the Rev. E. S. VanNess, Pauline Webb of Anoka to George N. Baxter of Faribault. Mrs. Baxter is a niece of Ald. John Goss, and has a host of friends and acquaintances who joins in sending after the happy couple, well wishes for the future. After the ceremony a wedding supper was served at the residence of Mr. Wm. Giddings, and the newly married pair started on their wedding trip on the 5:40 train.
