Kenneth Evett:

Born in 1913, Kenneth Evett studied at Colorado State University and earned a MA at Colorado College. He lives and works in Ithaca, NY.

Kenneth Evett studied with Henry Varnum Poor and George Biddle. He taught at Cornell from 1948 to 1979, returning to Nebraska in 1954 to paint three murals in the rotunda of the State Capitol in Lincoln.

Artist Evett has had three one-man shows at a famous New York gallery, and has exhibited individual paintings in most of the major museums of the United States. He won the national competition to do three murals for the State Capitol building at Lincoln, Nebraska, and these murals, like those in many public buildings, proved controversial.
