Lumen Martin Winter:

1908-1982

During the Great Depression, Lumen Winter took part in the Federal Arts Project set up by the Works Progress Administration, and he painted murals in public schools and post offices. He had been well trained having studied at the Cleveland School of Art, the National Academy of Design, the Grand Central School of Art, and the Beaux-Arts Institute of Design. He also had gone abroad to France and Italy.
