This is the last Will and Testament
of me William Bendall of the parish of Cwmcarvan in the County of
Monmouth farmer. First I will and
direct that all my just debts and funerall expences be fully paid and satisfied
by my executors herein after named. I
give and bequeath all and singular my personal estate and effects whatsoever to
my loving friends William Williams of the parish of Mitchael Troy in the
said County of Monmouth farmer and John Savory of Cowhill in the parish
of Thornbury in the County of Gloucester cordwainer and to the survivor of them
and the executors and administrators of such survivor in trust to permit and
suffer my dearly beloved wife Elizabeth to have and enjoy the same for
the term of her natural life if she remains a widow and from and after her
decease I order and direct the same to be equally divided between my nephews
and nieces John Allen, Mary Allen, Elizabeth Allen and William
Savory share and share alike and if either of them the said John Allen,
Mary Allen or Elizabeth Allen shall happen to dye in the life
time of my said wife then the share of him her or them so dying shall go to and
be divided between the survivor or survivors of them and the said William
Savory and if the said William Savory shall happen to dye in the life
time of my said wife then his share so as aforesaid shall go to and be paid to
his brothers Richard Savory and Daniel Savory equally between
them and my further will and meaning is that in case my said wife shall and do
intermarry with any person then I do hereby impower will order and direct my
said trustees and the survivor of them as aforesaid at and imediately upon her
said marriage to possess themselves of my personal estate and effects as
aforesaid and divide the same into equal shares and proportions between my said
wife and my several legatees, John, Mary and Elizabeth Allen
and William Savory above named and according to the purport true
intent and meaning of my Will as aforesaid.
And I do hereby nominate and appoint my said dearly beloved wife Elizabeth
Bendall and John Allen joint executors of this my Will hereby revoking all other Wills by me
heretofore made. In witness whereof I
have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirtieth day of July one thousand

and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence

sworn to the truth thereof and to their faithful performance of the same and
that the goods chattles & credits of the dec’d do not amount in value to

This Will was
proved at Abergavenny on the tenth day of May in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and ninety one before the Revd William Powell, Clerk,
Master of Arts, the Chancellor’s Surrogate by Elizabeth Bendall widow
the relict and John Allen the executors in this Will named who were
first on the holy Evangelists personally sworn well and faithfully to execute
the same to exhibit an inventory &c and to render a just account of their
administration thereof when thereunto lawfully required
