The records contain baptismal, marriage
& burial records for the Catholic Missions
that existed after the Protestant reformation
of the early 16th century.
The 5 missions of Monmouthshire were
started and protected by the old landed families
of the county such has the Jones {Herbert}of Llanarth
Court, Powell of Perthir and Vaughan family of Courtfield
The records also contain lists of those
who attended mass and other Catholic services, the movement
of Irishmen & women in the 19th
century and correspondence between the priests and The Vatican.
