James Oscoe Blankinship, 86, of Marietta died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001. Services will be 2 p.m. today at West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta, with the Revs. J. T. Spinks and Darrell Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Mr. Blankinship was a carpenter and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Era Edna Blankinship; six children, Doyle C. Blankinship of Villa Rica, J. Lloyd Blankinship, Richard Blankinship and Joyce Owenby, all of Marietta, Kenneth Blankinship of Hendersonville, Tenn. and Janice Mitchell of Powder Springs; two sisters, Wyolene Mathis of Woodstock and Pauline Dunn of Holly Springs; and 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
