Notes for LORETTA STRAWN:

Notes: THE PARIS NEWS, Tue., May 13, 1997, p.1A: 'Collision with Bus Kills Two - A tour bus filled with 33 passengers collided with a small pickup on U.S. Highway 271 south of Paris Monday, killing a brother and sister in the pickup. No injuries were reported on the bus. Herbert Strawn, 83, of Arlington and Loretta Endsley, 74, of Paris were pronounced dead at the scene at 11:30 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Larry Moree. Reports state Strawn made a left turn from Farm-to-Market 1508/Airport Road onto Highway 271 after failing to stop at a stop sign. 'He went completely across 271 into the ditch, returned onto the roadway and was struck by the bus,' Lt. Bob Hundley said. 'Neither person in the pickup was wearing a seat belt.' The bus was from Wagner, OK headed to Louisiana. The driver was taken to the hospital due to a high blood pressure condition, Hundley, and a routine blood alcohol test was administered. No charges have been filed. An autopsy was ordered on Strawn because Hundley said in recreating the accident; it didn't appear he had control of his pickup. 'This is a speculation, but Mr. Strawn had a pacemaker and there was a real good chance he was in distress or unconscious at the time of the accident.' Strawn was in Paris for another sister's funeral which took place Saturday. A similar accident took place in April in blossom when a group of people from Kansas were in Paris for a funeral and were killed in a wreck with a driver who had fallen asleep.' THE PARIS NEWS, Tue., May 13, 1997, p.5A: '(Picture) Loretta Endsley, 74, of Paris died at noon Monday, May 12, 1997, in an automobile accident which also resulted in the death of her brother, Herbert Strawn.
