THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 25 Sep 1986. 'Wilbur E. Emberson of Roxton died Thursday, 18 Sep 1986, at Cal Cam Hospital in Sulpher, La. Services were held Sunday, 21 Sep, in Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel with Masonic graveside rites at Restland Cemetery in Roxton. Mr. Umberson was born 21 Aug 1897, in Lamar County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben M. Umberson. He married Lovelia Moore on 7 Sep 1919, in Roxton. She died 21 Aug 1968. He had lived in Roxton until Sep of 1985 when he moved to Sulpher. He was a retired farmer and attended the Church of Christ in Roxton. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a Shriner and former member of the Roxton School Board, the West Lamar School Board, director of the First National Bank in Roxton, and a member of the Farm Bureau. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Chris) Flynn of Alexandria, La., Mrs. Vernon (Datherine) Atchley of Roxton and Mrs. Jerry (Barbara) Gibson of Sulpher, La.; one brother, Roy Umberson of Roxton; two sisters, Lorna Childers of Roxton and Mamie Hollabaugh of Blooming Grove, Texas; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.'

She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Prater of Aubrey and Myrle Childers of Roxton; sons, Haskell Childers of Eureka, MO, Doyle Childers and Jerry Jim Childers both of Roxton, Raymond Childers of Paris; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Myrle Louise Childers, 82, of Roxton died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at her residence.

Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, in Restland Cemetery in Roxton with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Gene Roden’s Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. The family received friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at Gene Roden’s Sons Funeral Home. She was born Dec. 15, 1920, in Roxton, the daughter of James C. (Dick) and Lona Umberson Childers. She was employed with the Roxton School District as a lunch room attendant until her retirement. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Lona Childers and brothers, Haskell, Glenn and Doyle Childers. Survivors include her sister, Margaret Prater of Aubrey; two brothers, Jerry Jim Childers of Roxton and Raymond Childers of Paris; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

THE PARIS NEWS, Wed., Sep. 27, 1995, p.6A. 'Funeral services for Haskell L. Childers, 77, will be a 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sep. 27, 1995, at Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Roxton under direction of Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home. Childers died Sunday, Sep. 24, in Pacific Care Center, Pacific, MO. He was born April 8, 1918, a son of Dick and Lona (Umberson) Childers. He married Sybil [C.] Morris June 12, 1938. She preceded him in death Aug. 7, 1988. Childers was a retired farmer and a member of the Roxton Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Lyndell Childers of Roxton; a daughter, Jaralene Burns of Eureka, MO; brothers, Raymond Childers of Paris, Jerry Jim Childers and Doyle Childers, both of Roxton; sisters, Myrle Childers of Roxton and Margaret Prater of Aubrey; grandchildren, Terry McCloud, Sharon Boone, Chris Childers, Jennifer Childers, Jamie Taber and Brazos Taber; great-grandchildren, Dustin Boone and Jason Boone; and a great-great-grandchild, Glenn Childers. Pallbearers will be Chris Childers, James Childers, Shawn Childers, Brazos Taber, Keith Perry and David Walker.'
