Edward Sharp

Edward Sharp was born around 1700, and died in 1790 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.  No proof of his origins has been found.

The first mention of Edward in the records of Mecklenburg County is in 1771.  Robert McGough, also our ancestor, bought a tract of land, and Edward signed as a witness.

Edward is mentioned again in 1775, when he was a

member of a petit jury of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions. 

Edward made his home on Four Mile Creek, in the community of Providence Presbyterian Church. This is about ten miles south of Charlotte, NC. 

At the time that Edward's will was written, his wife was already dead, so there was no mention of her name.  Her identity is unknown, although she may have been a Miss Henderson.
