James Sharp

James C. Sharp

James was the son of James and Margaret Cunningham Sharp.  He was born in Mecklenburg County NC in 1790. 

James married Elizabeth, last name unknown in Georgia. 

James and Elizabeth moved to Montgomery County AL some time prior to 1827.  James died in 1852 in Montgomery County.

Wingfield Sharp

Wingfield was born about 1794.  He married in Georgia, to a lady named Caroline.  They lived for a time in Montgomery, but returned to Georgia, and there is no record of them after that time.

William Sharp

William was the youngest child of James and Margaret Sharp.  He was born on Jan. 14, 1799 in Mecklenburg County, NC.

William married Mariah Kerr in Montgomery County AL on April 14, 1829.

William was one of the weathiest of the Sharps in Montgomery at that time.  He owned 1,400 acres of land and 31 slaves.  He donated land for the Providence Presbyterian Church, and was the first elder of that church.

William died about 1880 in Montgomery County.
