John T. Sharp

John was the first child of Marshall and Matilda Sharp.  He was born in Georgia on Dec. 10, 1820.

John was reared in Montgomery, and as a young man her move to Montgomery County AL. 

John married Francis Caroline Slaughter on Nov. 18, 1845. After Caroline's death on Feb. 30, 1865, John went on to marry Maryann Parnell, but Caroline was the mother of all his children. 

John died on June 6, 1909.

Elizabeth Ann Sharp

Elizabeth was the first daughter of Marshall and Matilda.  She was born in Greene County GA in 1822.

She married John W. Thweat on Nov. 27, 1843 at Waverly, in Tallapoosa County AL.

When John died in 1862, Elizabeth was left a widow with small children.  She supported her family by taking in sewing and making bonnets.

Elizabeth died around 1902 in Eufaula, AL.

Emily C. Sharp

Emily was the second daughter of Marshall and Matilda.  She was born in 1826 in Georgia.

Emily married Joe C. P. (Josephus) Sharp, who was the son of Robert T. Sharp, and her first cousin.  They married on Oct. 27, 1859 in Tallapoosa County, AL.

When Josephus died in 1871, Emily died soon after. Their two young children  were sent to live with their uncle, Wade H. Sharp, brother of Josephus.  When he died in 1876 the children were sent to Mississippi to live with their uncle, John T. Sharp.
