"What
does blood mean? We take great pride in blooded animals, race
horses, hunting dogs, etc. But so many people seem to care so
little about breeding in humans. We are certainly the sum total of
all our background. In genealogy, we can soon find out we have
lots of different people in us. Each generation we go back, we
multiply by two.
Two parents, four grandparents, eight great grand- parents, sixteen three times great, 32 four times, etc. on back. So no wonder we are each an individual, inheriting in different measure traits of those earlier ancestors." Eron M. Sharp, May 20, 1983 |
