West Blocton, Alabama

Mount Carmel is Bibb County’s largest cemetery, and the final resting place for coal miners and their families and veterans of all American wars from the Civil War to Vietnam.  Established in 1881, the cemetery contains the history of Blocton and surrounding communities written in hundreds of stone monuments commemorating the diverse nationalities that contributed to the uniqueness of the town.
