My Family Branches Information

My Family Branches is a webpage I have created as an online community of Family Trees. These Trees are submitted by individual researchers.

All Trees world-wide are welcome! Your information and tree(s) remain copyright to you. My Family Branches website has NO ownership claims to your material submitted. This means that no one can sell or publish your data without your permission.

If you would like to participate (participation is FREE) all you need do is send your GEDCOM (see footnote 1)to me.

Steps to Follow

  1. Remove details of living individuals (optional)
  2. Create your GEDCOM (see footnote 2) and save it to your hard drive.

Details Required

In a covering email to me, provide the following:
  1. Your contact name and email address. You may also provide a snail address and telephone number if you wish
  2. A name for your Family Tree pages online (eg Smith Family Tree; Descendants of Jim Smith; Ancestors of Susie Smith; The Smith Family of New York)
  3. Tell me the individual you want the tree to start with (Jim Smith? Susie Smith?)
  4. Tell me if you want an Ancestor or a Descendant Tree. Some researchers start with their father or mother and have me create an Ancestor Tree. Others like to take a further back ancestor, such as a 6th great grandparent and create a Descendant Tree.

Next, send me your email and attached GEDCOM. I will create webpages for you, upload them and send you the URL where they can be viewed online by all researchers.

Important Note re Revisions

If your email changes, let me know and I will revise your pages immediately.

If you want to update your information on family lines, you must send me a new GEDCOM. I will revise an existing Family Tree online every two months. Your revision dates are calculated from your "Last Updated" date found at the bottom of your first Family Tree page
