Notes

"About 1840 Thomas Hastings migrated to the SW portion of Madison Co. MS where he became an overseer for W. Jordan Denson. They had been neighbors in Franklin Co. TN and were related through marriage to Pendleton Sandridge, son of his uncle Nathan. About 1850 he adopted the spelling of 'Sandidge" as was already used by his cousins in Ky, Mo, VA, AL, and Northern MS. In 1855, he began buying adjoining land as it became available near Brownsville, in Hinds Co. MS and formed his own plantation which he called "Solitude".

He served in the CSA from 22 Mar 1862 to 4 July 1863 when he was captured at the surrender of Vicksburg and paroled home on 7 July 1863.

Thomas Hastings & Mary Sibley had 10 children: Charles Rufus, Ida Bell, Sara Idell, Luella Kate, Mary Ada, Susan Matilda, Elon Estes, Sammy Sibley, and two unnamed infants who died young."

From Ron Sandidge msg to Sandidge msg bd
I did some research a couple of weeks ago in Madison County, MS looking for the burial place of Thomas Hastings Sandidge's first wife, Sarah Scott, my gggreat grandmother. He worked on a Denson Plantation there from 1838 I believe to 1855 + or -. Ran into a road block.

I contacted the Madison County "historians" but they had no idea who Denson was, read their books but it does not list him. I know he lived there, I found records, township and range, of land he bought along the Big Black River and Bogue Chitto Creek, I found Mr. Denson's 1846 will and Thomas Hastings was a witness on it along with a I. S. or I. I. Scott. It listed land, slaves, etc.. Found marriage record of Thomas Hastings and Sarah Scott. But no one seems to know who Denson was or exactly how much land he had, therefore no knowledge of where Sarah Scott might be buried.
Anyone have knowledge of Mr. Denson or exact land descriptions of what land he had?

Subject: Re: George Swartz b 1806
I have the same info about George, son of Philip marrying Catherine Biesecker, daughter of Conrad and Margaret Swartz. George had 2 daughters that married Bieseckers (2 brothers - sons of Michael Biesecker - not sure if related to Conrad). My line is Michael (1752) Philip (1775) George (1806) Levi (1836 or 1838) Iva (1878), who married Clyde Burrus my grandmother Emma Burrus (1905). I have some info about Michael's father, but i'm having trouble with the accuracy of the dates.
