“...I Daniel Wilson of Henry County & State of Virginia...my Negroes I have to be sold at public auction & half of the money arising from the sale of the negroes I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Nathaniel Wilson and the other half I give and bequeath one Dollar to my Grand Daughter Rachel Holt and one dollar to my Grand Daughter Polley McDaniel & one dollar to Fielding Jones and one dollar to Daniel Jones my grandson and the balance of that half of the money give to be equally divided between my Grand Children Wilson Jones Agnes Griffin Susannah Meeks and Agnes Dyer I give also to Agnes Dyer one hundred Acres of land whereon she now resides I give also to my Grandson Wilson Jones one hundred Acres of Land whereon he now lives and I give also to my Grand daughter Susannah Meeks fifty acres of land whereon she now lives my house hold and kitchen furniture my stock of every description together with my plantation utensils I leave to be exposed to public sale and the money arising therefrom to be divided in the same manner as the money arising from the sale of the negroes only Rachel Hold and Polley McDaniel & Fielding Jones & Daniel Jones excluded in the presence of Almighty God I acknowledge this to be my last will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this [blank] day of [blank] in the year of our Lord 1827.”  Probated 12 Feb 1828.

“Be it remembered that I William Robertson of Hardin County and State of Kentucky being weak in body but of perfect mind & memory and considering the uncertainty of this Mortal life and being of sound Judgement, blessed be the almighty God for the same, I do make and publish this my last Will & Testament in manners & form following, Viz.  I have given & bequeathed to my eldest son, Henry Robertson, the sum of 190 dollars.  I have also given and bequeathed to my eldest daughter, Nancy Key, a negro girl named Mariah.  I have also given and bequeathed to my son, Joshua Robertson, one negro boy named Daniel.  I do also give & bequeath to my son, Carter Robertson, a negro child to be paid to him or his heirs on or before the 1st day of December, 1822.  If I have the negro child at that time to give him, if not, I give & bequeath to each of the rest of my first wifes children, a negro child if I have the child to give, if not, I give 150 dollars, three years between each payment.  1st in the year 1825, in the year 1828, in the year 1831 and in the year, 1834.  Each payment to be paid on the 1st day of December, each child to come in as they stand in the Will.  First, Fanny Hinton, next Stephen Robertson, next Carow Smith, then Bethenna Hopper, lastly of all, I do give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Nancy Robertson, all the rest of my personal estate, goods and chattles of what kind so ever to have and to hold free and clear to be equally divided between my last set of children had by my last wife, Nancy Robertson and one of the Children named Gimsy, she had before we was married which I want to have an equal part with the rest.  In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 19th day of November, 1819.” (signed) Witnesses Samuel Watkins, Thomas Henderson, and Polly Henderson

Peirce Company (C) of the 111th Regiment of Illinois VOLUNTEERS, of the State of Illinois, born in Adair Co., State of Kentucky, aged 34 years; 5 feet 11 ½ inches high; fair complexion, grey eyes, brown hair, and by occupation a farmer, having joined the company on its original organization at Xenia Ill...on the 9th day of August, 1862, and was mustered in service by Lt. Horace Brown 18 Inf., at Salem Ill, on the 18 day of Sept, 1862, to serve in the Regiment, for the term of three years:...is now entitled to a DISCHARGE by reason of death died April 29, 1864 in Hospl. No 2, at Paducah Ky Cause of Death ‘Pneumonia’....”
