" This Indenture made the tenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four between JOSEPH ELDER of Fannett Township, Franklin County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania of the one part and JOHN ELDER, son of JOSEPH of the township of Fannett in the county of Franklin and the Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that that the said JOSEPH ELDER for and in consideration of Fifteen hundred dollars money of the United States of America to him in hand paid by the said JOHN ELDER son of JOSEPH the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents as grant bargain and sell to the said JOHN ELDER his heirs and assigns all that plantation and tract of land in Fannett township aforesaid containing one hundred and sixty eight acres eighty perches and allowance of six per cent for roads, etc. bounded as follows, viz
Beginning at a post of land of EDWARD DOYLE south twenty four and one fourth W.
eighty two perches to a post the same South forty nine and one half E. fifty five perches to a linwood thence along land of CHARLES LEEPER South sixty and three fourths E one hundred and four perches to a chestnut stump

thence South 25 degrees E forty six perches to a black oak post, thence South forty degrees E. forty seven perches to a chestnut thence along the mountain North thirty eight and one half degrees E one hundred and forty six perches to a black oak thence along land of MICHAEL MORROW North twenty seven degrees W eleven and one half perches to a hickory the same North fifty five and one half degrees W Forty six perches to a poplor the same North seventy two and one half W twenty one perches to a white oak, the same North fifty two degrees West twenty seven and three fourths perches to a chestnut the same North seventy five and one half degrees West, ninety seven perches to a post the same North twenty two and one half degrees E five and three fourths perches to a locust, the same North fifty nine degrees West thirty four and one fourth perches to a hickory the same North Seventy and one half degrees West forty one perches to the place of Beginning, being a post of a tract of fifty three acres and one fourth which the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by their patent dated the 27th day of October AD 1766  did convey to WILLIAM LAWTHERS and likewise a part of another tract of land Surveyed in pursuance of a warrant granted to the said WILLIAM LAWTHERS dated the 28th day of October AD 1766 No. 1697.  Another tract of land adjoining the mountain taken up by RICHARD MORROW and surveyed in the 9th day of May 1789 and whereas the said WILLIAM LAWTHER by his Indenture dated the 17 day of October AD 1785 did convey the same to RICHARD MORROW whereas the said RICHARD MORROW deceased leaving a Will dated March AD 1813 in said Will, he the said deceased did divise amongst other things a vest in his son THOMAS MORROW the right of the above described plantation and tract of land, and the said THOMAS MORROW by his Indenture dated the 27th day of May AD 1820 did convey the same to JOSEPH ELDER reference to the said deed and patent aforesaid being had will more fully appear Together with all and singular the rights liberties and immunities building improvements and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold to the said JOHN ELDER his heirs and assigns for ever, and the said JOSEPH ELDER for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth convenant and agree to and with the said JOHN ELDER his heirs and assigns that the said JOSEPH ELDER the above described tract of land with the appurtenances from him and his heirs and from all and every other person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same will warrant and forever defend by virtue of these presents.  In Testimony whereof the said JOSEPH ELDER have hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written.

5 March 1806 letters of Adm. granted to Robert Lauther
with John Campbell and Richard Morrow as surities.
Randall Alexander of  Fannett conveyed 167 a. of land to Lauther in 1778 and in 1791.
Wm.  Lauther sells part of the tract to Wm. Taylor.
It is probable the children continued to live in Fannett
