Death: Jan. 20, 2011
Willis "Will" Elder, 49, passed away at his home in Burlington on
Thursday, January 20, 2011 due to complications from diabetes.
Will was born in Burlington, WA on February 6, 1961.
He attended school in Burlington and graduated in 1979 from BEHS.
Will began working as a Union Electrician in 1995 and was employed by
Valley Electric from 1998 until July of 2010 when poor health forced him to stop working.
Will had been a hardworking foreman for the past ten years but his favorite pastime was spending time with his kids.
He was a remarkable, loving and devoted father.
Will had a great sense of humor and loved to play practical jokes on people.
He
fought very hard the last few months to regain his health so he could
be here for his kids. He loved them so very much! They will have great
memories of him to bring them comfort, especially knowing how much he
loved them.
Will is survived by his three children, Marissa, Cassie and Kyle Elder, all of Burlington.
He is also survived by his mother, Margaret Clobridge of Fresno, CA;
siblings, Jed Carter - Daytona Beach, FL, Kelly Carter - Daytona Beach, FL, Lorrie Carter - Kenai, AK,
Crystal Elder - Mount Vernon, WA, Ben Elder - Burlington, WA,
D'arcy Elder-Centeno - Burlington, WA, Felisha Arden - Alger, WA,
Marina Schenk - New York, Meredith Sweney - Phoenix, AZ, Dan Elder - Alger, WA.
He is also survived by the mother of his children, Anna Elder of Bow, WA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Will was preceded in death by his dad, ED Elder and brother, Jared Elder.
He will be missed by many friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at Hawthorne Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, WA
on Wednesday, January 26th at 2pm. Viewing will be held from 9am to 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Will Elder Children Memorial Fund at People's Bank.
Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, WA.
