  Looking again at the online VA Surveyors book,
 I still didn't find
JOSEPH ELDER, but I was surprised to find so many REEDY Creek                                    More Washington Co VA
and READY Creek entries and spellings, when
I searched thru the whole webpage--
they all must have known each other,
if not relatives.
