Emily Thorne
1865-1893
Emily Thorne was born about 1865 in New Brunswick, Can., probably around
the Washedemoak area,
the daughter of James F. Thorne, a farmer, and Abigail E. Tabor. She grew up with two brothers,
Elias and Adam.
In about the year 1881, at 21 years, she married Berkley R. Vail, a farmer, and they
resided in Hatfield's Point, Kings County.
Their first born son arrived Christmas Eve, December 24, 1887.
Two years later, on June 20, 1889 Elias William arrived.
After that, on May 24, 1891, Wilfred Hartley.
Otty B. was born October 27, 1893
and before the month was out, on October 31, 1893, Emily died at age 29 years from complications
of childbirth.
