First
we have James P. DAVIS. He may be the father of my gg-grandfather Thomas Woodford
DAVIS. (Believing that James is my
ggg-grandpa, I have collected quite a bit on his children.)
1.
JAMES
P.
DAVIS
was born Abt. 1817 in Tn, and died Bef. 1860 in Probably Mo, Possibly Pulaski
Co. He married BETHIA
DAVIS?
Abt. 1835.

Second, there is William DAVIS who married Elizabeth HARP.
We have info on this family because their daughter Salina married John
Thompson Davis (which, by the way, is the next Davis
line!) the same
man as Nancy Jane, dau of James P. above. It was stated in some Civil War pension files that Salina was the
cousin of Thomas and Lucinda, children of James P. (The more I find out
about these families, the more I believe that James and William were brothers.)
2. WILLIAM
FRANKLIN
DAVIS
(JOHN1)
was born 07 May 1808 in KY, and died 1892 in Christian Co., MO.
He married ELIZABETH
HARP
Bef. 1840, daughter of WILLIAM HARP and CHARLOTTE HARRISON.

This
last family we have info on because this John's grandson, John Thompson DAVIS,
married Nancy Jane, the sister of Thomas Woodford DAVIS. (John could be an
older sibling to William and/or James P. but I think he is a
cousin or possibly an uncle.)
1.
JOHN
M.
DAVIS
was born Abt. 1790 in KY, and died Aft. 1860 in MO.
(We are not positive he is the father here, but have strong reasons to believe
he is.)
