I think I have everything in the text files that has been submitted up through March 2000.  The newest names have been added to the bottom of each page.  Some of them may take some time to load, so please be patient.  If you submitted info after March, please resend it.

The text files are becoming large and hard to manage, which is one reason I had to remove the death index for awhile.  I knew it needed to go into a database-type website but didn't know how to do it.  

Once again, RootsWeb has saved the day!  They have agreed to let us put this database at their site and they will maintain it.  I can still add stuff to it tho.  I hope you all will help me get the info ready for RootsWeb by checking the info you submitted and letting me know any corrections I need to make.

Submit your info

If you would like to have your deaths listed here, please send me the person's Name, City and/or County where they died (you can include the cemetery), the date and Spouses name. If you'd like, you can send me your gedcom and I can extract the info from it and post it.  Would save much typing!
Please take the time to submit the info you have on people who died in Missouri. Sharing is what has gotten us this far. Remember: THE MORE WE SHARE, THE MORE WE HAVE TO SHARE.

I invite you to send me your listing of any items you may have in which you will do look-ups regarding deaths in Missouri or your web pages that have Missouri death or cemetery info on them. Also, you can join our mailing list or volunteer to help.
I also urge you to visit Missouri GenWeb Page. There are links to each county in the Missouri GenWeb Project and to lots of cemeteries, the MO Tombstone Project and many other helpful links.

This is not any kind of  'official' listing, only a compilation of info sent to me by others along with my own info and that of some cousins. While it is not perfect, I feel that it could benefit others researching in MO as there seems to be no official death index.

This website is maintained by Nettie Mae.  Not everything is documented, so if it's really important to your research, track down those sources!
