John Talcott and his wife, Dorothy Mott left England in 1632 for Boston. They sailed on the ship "Lion" (sometimes written "Lyon")  with their first two children, Mary and John. They settled first in Newton, then Cambridge, then Hartford.

1. Lt. Col. John TALCOTT. Born in 1632 in Braintree, Essex, England. John died in Hartford, CT on 23 Jul 1688, he was 56.

He was married (1) to Helena Wakeman (1632-1674). They had the following children:

John married (2) Mary COOK. Born in 1655.

2. Hezekiah TALCOTT. Born on 24 Feb 1685/1686 in Hartford, CT. One of the original settlers of Durham, CT. Hezekiah died in Durham, CT on 13 Feb 1764, he was 78.

Hezekiah married Jemina PARSONS, daughter of Lt. Samuel PARSONS (23 Jan 1652-12 Nov 1734) & Rhoda TAYLOR (26 Sep 1669-21 Jan 1759). Born on 24 Nov 1691 in Northampton, Hampshire, MA. Jemina died in Durham, Middlesex, CT. on 2 Feb 1757, she was 65.

3. John TALCOTT. Born on 26 Nov 1712 in Durham CT. John died on 16 Nov 1765, he was 52.

John married Sarah PARSONS. Born abt 1716 in Durham, CT.

4. Hezekiah TALCOTT. Born on 18 Jun 1739/1741 in Durham, CT. Hezekiah died on 16 Mar 1813, he was 73. Buried in Leyden Hill Cemetery, Lewis, NY.

Hezekiah built the stone house in Talcottville, NY at the corner of Water and Main Street.

Hezekiah married Sarah JOHNSON, daughter of Robert JOHNSON & Sarah SILL. Born in 1741. Sarah died on 26 Feb 1819, she was 78.

5. Johnson TALCOTT. Born on 6 Sep 1778 in Durham, Middlesex, CT. Johnson died on 13 Feb 1850, he was 71. Buried in Talcottville Cemetery, Lewis Co., NY.

Johnson married Altamira COOLEY, daughter of Jonathan COOLEY & Martha ASHLEY. Born on 15 Oct 1781 in West Springfield, Hampden, MA.

6. Adeline TALCOTT. Born on 8 Jul 1812 in Leyden Township, Lewis, NY. Adeline died during childbirth in Columbus, OH on 10 May 1852, she was 39.

In 1837 when Adeline was 24, she married Hanibal Howard KIMBALL, son of Richard KIMBALL (14 May 1775-10 Apr 1837) & Nancy BALLARD (OR BULLARD?) (19 Oct 1783-13 Nov 1820). Born on 25 Dec 1803 in Fairfield, Herkimer, NY. Hanibal Howard died in Columbus, OH on 23 Oct 1872, he was 68.

7. Ellen Grace KIMBALL. Born on 2 Sep 1845 in Columbus, Franklin Co., NY. Ellen Grace died in Talcottville, NY in Jun 1911, she was 65.

Ellen Grace married William Pratt REED, son of Jonathan REED (1 May 1797-1 Sep 1852) & Elizabeth (Betsey) TEMPLE (16 May 1805-12 Mar 1856), in Columbus, OH. Born on 14 Feb 1839 in Shrewsbury, MA. William Pratt died in Columbus, Franklin Co., OH on 11 Nov 1880, he was 41.

After her husband's death, she returned to Talcottville and had a 20 year lease on the house for the summers from Thomas Baker Jr. and his two surviving sisters. She took her daughters to Germany for the winters.

They had the following children:

8. William Kimball REED. Born on 31 Jan 1869 in Columbus, OH.

9. Elizabeth Adeline REED. Born on 11 May 1871 in Columbus, OH. Elizabeth Adeline died in Talcottville, NY in Jun 1903, she was 32.

On 26 Nov 1892 when Elizabeth Adeline was 21, she married Willard Hart Furbish, son of Henry Hart FURBISH (3 Jun 1835-12 Mar 1913) & Harriet A. ORDWAY (1838-31 Dec 1871), in Talcottville, NY. Born on 4 Mar 1862 in Portland, Cumberland, ME. Willard Hart died in Sandston, VA on 30 Apr 1933, he was 71.

They had the following children:

10. Dorothy Mott REED. Born on 22 Sep 1874 in Talcottville, NY. Dorothy Mott died in 1964, she was 89.
