My WESTON line goes back to William Weston born 1776, probably near Dartford in Kent. My WESTON line continues down to James Weston born 1865, my Great Grandfather, who after the death of his young wife seemingly disappears! He abandoned his 4 children to their fate and these children are then separated. The eldest my Grandfather went into the Merchant Navy, Florence went into nursing, Thomas, went into Dr Barnado's children's home at the tender age of 5 and the infant Richard went to a foster family and eventually to Canada as a "Home" child. I have been given permission to publish the sad but wholesome story of the life of Richard our Great Uncle as written by his wife Sylvia Carson - Read her sad story here. I have been in contact with my second cousin Barbara who descends from my Grandfathers brother Thomas. After the children were separated, our family had been apart for a century, it is delightful and amazing we have made contact again. |
